I started having panic attacks and self harming at the age of 12. I stopped at 26, a little over a year ago. I felt alone, worthless, scared, and angry. Emotional management and positive outlets were not a thing for me in those years. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I didn’t have the tools to do so. “What happens in the house, stays in the house” so I didn’t express how I was feeling much.
I took many steps to pull myself out of a rut and get to a much better spot. But I didn’t do it alone. I asked for help and guidance from my peers and a therapist. I found my way back to God and let go. And I started writing. There is something about putting pen to paper and fingers to keys that is so uplifting and therapeutic for me. Over the years, I have also been able to become more vulnerable with myself and my friends, and now you all. This road is not perfectly smooth, but I am able to navigate the twists and turns. I work through all the things daily, for growth and stability.
I genuinely want to help people by sharing my stories and experiences. I aim to candidly share my experiences and how I have overcome – or enjoyed them – in healthy and real ways so that you can take pieces with you and use them yourself. I want to share my travel insights with you and what different countries have brought out of me. I want to share my excitement and fears and motivations as an educator, because even though we save face for kids, we still feel all the things! I want you to know that you are not alone on your journey, wherever you are. I want you to feel connected and familiar when you read the raw emotion poured into the blogs. Whether you are here to read a personal blog, a travel experience blog, or a teaching blog, enjoy yourself. Read and take whatever you need, so that you can grow into the best version of YOURSELF in YOUR entirety.
Thank you for letting me be part of your journey too. If you want to get in touch, go to the contact page. Otherwise, browse around!
